Motivating students through arts-inspired group travel™
There’s no place quite like Honolulu! Managed by the Students on Broadway Red-Jacket Team™, your ensemble will experience the warmth of Aloha and a culture steeped in history in a way not to be forgotten.
An over-water journey to America’s 50th State is more than just a trip to a sun drenched oasis in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It’s an exploration of ‘ohana and the Polynesian Culture that is Hawaii.
Some may recognize the word “ʻohana” from movies such as Finding ‘Ohana or from the animated children’s series – now movie Lilo and Stitch where the characters repeatedly state that “ʻohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
Much like the teamwork, the close ties formed, and the reliance upon one another as a member of a polished marching band, orchestra, choir, dance team or theater group “the concept of ʻohana involves creating loving relationships with more than just blood relatives. Embracing ʻohana means developing a sense of familial care and devotion to all members of the human family.”
Throughout your ensemble’s journey to ‘ohana, the Red-Jacket Team™ will be on-hand, providing organization, structure, support and peace of mind as your ensemble showcases their talents at historically significant locations and on the shores of paradise.
From our unique T.E.A.M.™ leadership approach to on tour ground management to surprise birthday celebrations, our collective goal is for your students to return home enriched and motivated to be their best selves.
Your ensemble’s T.E.A.M. “Cultural Ambassador” is there to assist in embracing the Hawaiian culture by sharing personal island experiences and recounting the generational stories about everyday island life and how Hawaii remains, to this day, closely intertwined with tradition and native culture.
Hawaiian and Polynesian traditions inspire through music and movement. With Students on Broadway, Honolulu becomes more than just a destination. It becomes a vibrant soul-enriching stage where your students’ personal ‘ohana will begin to take root and help them to grow as performers and as young adults in their own unique ways.
